Description
Welcome to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing's Western Currency Facility Tour and Visitor Center. Here you will learn all about U.S. paper currency, and best of all, you can actually see billions of dollars being printed as you walk along an enclosed walkway suspended over the production floor. Before or after your tour, enjoy two floors of interactive exhibits showcasing the history of currency and the intricacies of the printing process. Other features of the Visitor Center include a theatre film, a gift shop, and a vending and rest area.

The Tour and Visitor Center opened on April 26, 2004, and is free to the public. To schedule a tour, please call (817) 231-4000 or toll free (866) 865-1194.

The availability of this tour changes, be sure to call be before you go.

The schedule for the free 45-minute tour is as follows: Congressional tours, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and individual and group tours, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. During extended summer hours (June 1 - August 31), the following additional tour hours are in effect: Congressional tours, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., and individual and group tours, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. All tours are Monday through Friday. The Western Currency Facility is closed weekends, Federal holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year's Day. Groups of 10 or more must schedule a tour in advance by calling (817) 231-4000 or (866) 865-1194. (Tour hours are subject to change.)
