Description
The historic Jack Daniel Distillery is the major claim to fame of tiny (pop. 361) Lynchburg. This facility is, they say, America's oldest registered distillery. Purveyors of fine "Tennessee sipping whiskey" since 1866, the company offers guided tours that take visitors through the process, from cave spring to mash, charcoal mellowing to oak barrels.

Hours
Tour hours are: 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

We're open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve day, Christmas, New Year's Eve day and New Year's Day. Tours last about an hour and fifteen minutes and start every fifteen minutes or so.

Due to Tennessee law, the White Rabbit Bottle Shop is closed on Sundays. It is also closed on the days the distillery is closed to visitors, as well as on certain holidays like the Fourth of July and Labor Day. However, we are allowed to do business on Election Day. So plan your visit accordingly should you desire to purchase Jack Daniel's commemorative decanters from the White Rabbit Bottle Shop.

Other Information
Interesting tour, the guides make it a kind of hands on tour, letting you lift and shake the lids of some of the kettles to give you an idea what is going on and get some smell to it too. We liked it very much. Due to the fact that this is an old factory and that there are steps to climb it is kind of hard for handicap access. If certain steps are skipped during the tour, you might be able to see some of it if in a wheel chair regardless. For example the museum and the visitor center, as well as the area where the barrels are stored.
They serve a real good coffee or lemonade at the end of the tour.
