Tour cost is $7.00 per person age 7 to adult. Children under 7 are not
permitted. Current GM employees, GM retirees (with ID), and active military personnel (with ID) are permitted to tour free of charge. Their accompanying guests will be admitted at no charge as well, up to a maximum of 10 guests.
Tours sponsored, organized and supervised by schools within area school districts are welcome, beginning with children in third grade. Such school tours involving children in grades three through eight will be admitted free of charge. Of course, whether a tour fee is charged or not, all tourists must comply with the plant's dress code and restrictions on personal property (i.e., cameras, purses, electronic devices, etc.).
To schedule a free tour in advance please contact the tour office at
[email protected]. To ensure a reservation we highly recommend booking your tours online through our online booking system. There will also be a kiosk available to process credit cards for walk in customers. Private tours and Public Tours must be booked at least 9 days in advance. If you wish to take a tour before the time you are allowed to pre-register, walk-ins are allowed. Please arrive 45 minutes in advance of the desired tour time. Checks are not accepted for tours!
Days and Times
==============
Public Tours are available three times a day, Monday through Thursday, at 8:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:45 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. CDT. Please arrive early. Tours will start promptly at their scheduled time or before, depending on large crowds. We will accommodate all guests. Tours are taken out in groups of 20-25 people, so if you are one of the last groups to go out you may have an extended wait time. Wait times can be up to 1 to 2 hours during our peak season. You will view a brief safety video and listen to an introduction about the plant before you take the tour. You will then embark on a casual one hour, one mile walking tour of the assembly area. Due to employee breaks and production issues, the assembly line may not always be running.
The plant will be open for self-guided tours only on September 4, 2009, but the plant will not be in production.
How to Get Tour Information

These items must be left in your car. There are no holding facilities on site for guests' personal belongings.
