Baseball History Tour
---------------------
San Francisco is a baseball town, and you'll see why on this tour. Join a baseball historian on a walk/ride trip around town including sites like Baseball's Favorite Address - AT&T Park, Joe DiMaggio's neighborhood, and much more.

Hop on one of San Francisco's open air double-decker buses as you explore baseball's roots in San Francisco! We'll tour AT&T Park, Joe DiMaggio's neighborhood, McCovey Cove, Seal Stadium, and two memorabilia-packed historic sports pubs, all led by a baseball historian.

Learn the history of baseball in San Francisco, from the first game of "town ball" ever played in California, through the Negro, Nisei, and Mexican league teams, the historic Seals, all the way up to the migration west of the Giants. Get the Willies (Mays and McCovey,) find out why Sandlot Ball originated here, learn why San Francisco was a Yankee town until the 1950's, and learn the answer to the question "Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio?"

We'll spend an hour cruising around town visiting Joe DiMaggio's North Beach haunts, the old stadium sites, Lefty O'Doul's pub and bridge, and more.

Next, enjoy a drink in the historic Double Play saloon across from the old Seals Stadium while our historian recreates baseball scenes from the 1920's.

Re-board the bus and travel to ATT Park, where we jump off and start a 60 to 90 minute walking tour of McCovey Cove, where "Splash Hits" go to splash. You may visit the Fan Lot and Marina, or if ballpark schedule permits, get a private tour behind the scenes inside the stadium (additional $10 per person).

Departs from Lefty O'Doul's Bar and Grill, 333 Geary St near Union Square or elsewhere on request. Times vary.

Duration: approximately 3 hours

Ends: AT&T Park. Easy public transit is available to all of San Francisco after completion of tour, or hotel return is also available.
