Description
The Tomahawk Operations facility was established in 1963 in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, and quickly became the sole supplier of fiberglass parts for Harley-Davidson® motorcycles. Since then and after several expansions, the Kaphaem Road and Somo Avenue facilities comprise 192,000 square feet, standing proudly on 96 acres of land. More than 400 employees manufacture plastic and fiberglass parts, including sidecars, saddlebags, and windshields. Tomahawk's Somo Avenue facility paints, assembles, and ships the components to the York Vehicle Operations facility where it all comes together on Original Equipment motorcycles. The Diversified Products division on Kaphaem Road includes sidecar production, Genuine Motor Parts & Accessories, and does custom painting for unique orders. Your tour begins with an introductory movie. Then you'll head for the factory floor and discover the individual touches that give Harley-Davidson motorcycles their distinctive style as parts are molded, coated, machined, and painted. Afterwords, move down the line to sneak a peek at the finished products. Finally, spend time in the custom painting area where the unique, rider-specified designs that Harley enthusiasts crave are designed, styled, and painted. Take a trip to Tomahawk and go behind the scenes of style and tradition, where custom is king. |

Hours
Tours are free and last approximately one hour. Tours will be conducted beginning Tuesday, June 1st through Thursday, September 16th. Tours begin at regular intervals between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm Monday through Friday. Tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Tours are not offered on weekends, major holidays, or during production changes and year-end maintenance. Tour schedule is subject to change. Please call 1-877-883-1450 (toll free) or 414-343-7850 prior to your visit for up-to-date tour information. Tour Center and gift shop hours are 10AM to 3PM Monday through Friday. Reservations are required for groups of 10 or more. |

Other Information
Children under the age of 12 are welcome in the tour center, but are not allowed on the factory tour. Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Cameras or recording devices are not allowed in the plant. Photography is permitted in the Tour Center. Bags or packages such as knapsacks, luggage and camera bags are not allowed in the factory. Fully enclosed, low-heeled shoes (1 inch or below) are required. Children under the age of 12 are welcome in the Tour Center, but are not allowed on the factory tour. Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Please notify us if you have disability-related needs. Every effort will be made to accommodate you. |
